Holiday Tips For Your Teeth!



The holidays are fast approaching and it can be a very busy time! We’ve summarized the following principles to ensure a tooth-healthy holiday season.

~Candy: It’s almost inevitable during the holidays, there’s going to be chocolate and sweets. It’s fine to indulge, but let’s minimize the damage to your teeth! Eat sweets in moderation and chew xylitol containing gum or sugar-free gum afterward to clean teeth and prepare them for brushing. Be sure to brush and floss extra-thoroughly to remove excess sugars and particles from the mouth.

~Brush: Toothbrushes make great family stocking stuffers! Brush your teeth twice daily, for two minutes each time, using a soft-bristled toothbrush. Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months or when the bristles look frayed.

~Floss: It’s vital to clean the food particles and plaque from between your teeth. Floss once daily, taking 2-3 minutes each day to.

~Visit Your Dentist Now: A cavity or other oral emergency can be upsetting and interrupt your plans. The year often only gets busier from here on out, so take the time to look after your oral health!
